Man Utd interim coach wouldn’t arrive at the club till mid-December

The latest reports via ESPN has revealed that Man Utd, new interim coach and Germany manager Ralf Rangnick wouldn’t be at Old Trafford until mid-December.

This latest update means the 63-year-old who Man Utd have confirmed as their new coach will not be involved when they host Arsenal at Old Trafford on Thursday in the Premier League.

It is also an opportunity for caretaker manager Michael Carrick to select the team and tactics for the game vs Arsenal.

The delay in Rangnick’s arrival in England is due to his lack of coaching experience since leaving RB Leipzig in 2019; he does not automatically qualify for a UK work permit.

The only solution for Germany International is to face a Football Association-appointed independent panel now to secure the necessary visa to work in the Premier League.

The timing of the hearing is out of United’s control and could delay Rangnick’s ability to work and could see him miss three matches this month.

After Arsenal, the Red Devils will play Crystal Palace on Sunday and Youngs Boys in the UCL on December 8.

This means Rangnick would be available when the Red Devils make a trip to Norwich on December 11 before the red tape is cleared for him to sit in the dug-out.
