Aside from Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga, another player who will not be involved at the Etihad Stadium On Wednesday evening against Man City in the Carabao Cup is Reece James

Potter in a pre-match statement gave an update on how James’ race against time to be available for the upcoming World Cup is going following a knee injury.

‘No miracles, unfortunately. He’s progressing well. Reece was outside today, had a little jog, but nothing to report in terms of anything else.

‘We haven’t really put a timescale on it. It’s just how he responds, we don’t want to rush anything. I certainly don’t want to put any timescales on it, that’s for him and the doctors and the physios. He’s optimistic, you need to be.’

Chelsea will make some changes to their squad against Man City and will hope to bounce back with a win at Etihad Stadium after their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend.
