Man City defender sends warning to Man Utd ahead of faceoff

Manchester City defender, Manuel Akanji has issued a warning to their neighbours Manchester United ahead of their weekend game.

Akanji stated that Man City would win all three points at Old Trafford when both teams meet in their Premier League derby.

The Switzerland star, who scored as Man City defeated Young Boys 3-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, will be unavailable for the clash with Manchester United through suspension.

Akanji picked up a one-match domestic ban after being sent off in the closing stages of last weekend’s win over Brighton.

Even though he wouldn’t be available to play, the 28-year-old defender is now backing his team to beat Man United right at Old Trafford.

“It is going to be a big game, it is going to be tough, but I trust in our guys,” Akanji said as quoted by Independent UK ahead of the clash.

“I think we are ready for this game and we are going to get the three points in an away game again.”
