Manchester City captain and defender, Fernandinho’s name didn’t appear on the club’s retained players which were recently submitted.

While the 36-year-old, who has been at the Etihad Stadium since 2013, will see his contract expire at the end of this month, he is yet to reach a new agreement with the club.

The report revealed that Fernandinho’s name was included on the Premier League’s released list, which was published on Friday, along with Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia both of who have already completed transfer moves to Spanish club Barcelona.

According to Sky Sports News, the Brazilian midfielder has been offered a new deal, though terms have yet to be agreed and negotiations are still at an early stage.

However, in a bid to comply with Premier League rules that all 20 clubs had to submit their retained list before Friday’s announcement and with Fernandinho’s future still uncertain, Man City had to remove his name.

Fernandinho has spent nine years with City winning different trophies. He has made 350 appearances across all competitions, winning four Premier League titles, six League Cups and one FA Cup.

Hopefully, he would reach an agreement with Man City in the coming days
