The latest reports have claimed that Liverpool are the major contenders to get a deal for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

With the 33-year-old striker’s contract with the German giants set to end in the summer of 2023, the reports from Germany claimed he has informed the club of his intention to seek a new challenge elsewhere next season.

Following the reports, Lewandowski, who is one of the top-rated strikers in Europe, has unsurprisingly been linked with a switch to the Premier League with the likes of Real Madrid also in the race as they see him as a better replacement to Erling Braut Haaland, who they wanted to sign from Borrusia Dortmund in the recent summer window.

Manchester City are also reportedly in the race to sign Lewandowski amid reports that they will not reignite their pursuit of Tottenham’s striker, Harry Kane, but Fichajes states that Liverpool are set to battle their top-flight rivals for his services.

The report added that the Reds coach, Jurgen Klopp, particularly bade for the signing of Lewandowski, who he coached during their stint at Dortmund.

So far this season, Lewandowski has ten goals to his name for Bayer Munich.
