Lazio reportedly contact Chelsea for Arrizabalaga

As the winter transfer window draws nearer, there are bound to be transfer rumours flying about.

In a latest report, Italian club Lazio have reportedly contacted Chelsea in a bid to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa, 27, became the most expensive goalkeeper of all time following his move to Stamford Bridge from Athletic Bilbao in August 2018 for a fee in the region of £71m.

He has, however, struggled to make his mark for the Blues in all competition though, and he has become a second choice at the club behind Edouard Mendy, who is now Chelsea number one goalkeeper.

According to Il Messaggero, former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, who is now in charge of Lazio, has contacted his former club to discuss a move for the Spain international.

The report claimed that the Italian giants view Kepa as the ideal long-term replacement for 39-year-old Pepe Reina.

Kepa still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his current contract at Stamford Bridge.

He has made only five appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season, with just one of those to have come in the Premier League.
