The former Chelsea star who in charge at Stamford Bridge for 18 months before he was replaced by current coach, Thomas Tuchel revealed how he missed Kante during his first arrival as a coach at Chelsea.

He disclosed that Kante is a key player in the Blues squad and was missed when he was away from the team owing to a hamstring injury.

The former England international however revealed one problem he had with Kante during his time at the West London club.

According to Lampard, the ‘problem’ was trying to stop the midfielder from running too much during training sessions.

Lampard told BBC Sport, “The problem I found with him more than anything was trying to hold him back in training because every day you train and you let him off the leash in an opposed session, and you have to try to pull him back because he can just put that output into anything he does.
