Lampard gives injury update ahead of Arsenal clash

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has given an update about the injury status of left-back Ben Chilwell as they prepare to face Arsenal on boxing day

Chilwell has become one of Chelsea’s best performers ever since he joined from Leicester City in the summer but was forced off during their Premier League clash against West Ham United on Monday night.

The England international rolled his right ankle after a challenge and was replaced by Emerson Palmieri who had a great outing.

Lampard who was delighted that his team were back to winning ways after two consecutive defeat stated that Chilwell remains a doubt for the match against Arsenal.

Speaking to the club official website, Lampard noted that Chilwell will be doubtful for Arsenal as he turned his ankle and tried to carry on but it was too painful.

Lampard stated that a scan will be made on the left-back to see how bad he is.

Summer signing Thiago Silva scored the opening goal of the match followed by a late brace from Tammy Abraham which sealed a comfortable win for Chelsea.

Majority of Chelsea fans will be hoping that Chilwell gets fit in time to face Arsenal who are eager to turn their season around.
