Klopp reacts to reports of Liverpool signing Mbappe
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed the report of the Reds being in talks with French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain PSG over a loan move for Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe has been making headlines following his refusal to sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions.
This means PSG could lose the 24-year-old forward for free as a free agent in June 2024.
To prevent this, PSG are keen on making some money on Mbappe, who wants a move to Spanish club Real Madrid.
So far Mbappe has been linked with the Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs.
However, Liverpool’s manager has now claimed any deal for the French star would be too expensive.
“I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all.
“I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.
“But it’s possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me, but that hasn’t happened in the eight years that I’ve been here. That would be the first time,” Klopp told Sky Germany.
