Chelsea striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has sent a message to his former club Arsenal fans as he revealed that his decision to join Barcelona, the Blues or any other club was to show them that it was not all about the money.

Aubameyang admitted he gave up his £250,000-a-week salary to move to Camp Nou in February 2022.

The Gabon star hit out at accusations from some Arsenal supporters who suggested he was only motivated by the wages.

After his move to Chelsea, Stamford Bridge, Aubameyang is reportedly on £160k-a-week after joining from Barcelona on transfer deadline day.

His clash with Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta meant that he was desperate to leave, and ended up signing for the Catalans on a massive pay cut, with the former Borussia Dortmund striker making around 95,000 euros per week.

“I wanted to show them [Arsenal] because they thought this guy [only plays] because of the money,” the Chelsea striker said, according to Metro.

“But okay, let me go everywhere else I’ll show you, that’s no problem, I will show you.”
