Chelsea football star and England international Reece James, has reacted  to the claims that he could be missing in action in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to injury.

James in a post via his Twitter account made his fans know that he is desperate to recover in time to make it to next month’s World Cup.

The England international tweeted at the weekend: “The race against time is on… But we won’t give up.”

This comes after earlier reports had emerged that the Blues defender is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks with a knee problem.

Which means James’ spot in England’s World Cup squad is in doubt for the upcoming tournament, which is set to start on 20 November.

The right-back sustained the injury in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Italian side AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

He was replaced by captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the 62nd minute, but after scans, the injury now seems more serious than initially thought.
