Manchester United couldn’t get a chance to play in the Champions League next season even if they finish sixth.

This is thanks to a UEFA rule change, talkSPORT reported.

Should West Ham win the Europa League and finish at the fifth spot on the Premier League table, Man United would qualify for the Champions League if they come sixth.

As of now, the Red Devils are 11 points adrift from both fourth-placed Tottenham and fifth-placed Aston Villa.

Man United have failed to win any of their last three league matches and with seven games left to play, they don’t stand a chance of making it to the top-four.

Despite this, Erik ten Hag’s side could still qualify for the Champions League.

England are set to get an additional spot in next year’s Champions League and due to the expansion of the competition, two leagues will earn an extra place in Europe’s top club competition.
