How Jesus killed Arsenal’s chances of winning a title next season
Former England defender Micah Richards has shared his opinion on the club winning the EPL next season.
While Arsenal are planning to unseat Manchester City in the new season, Richards claimed Gabriel Jesus’ injury has already “killed” the Gunners’ chances of winning the Premier League.
Jesus is expected to be unavailable during the start of the campaign after undergoing minor knee surgery last month.
According to Richards, the Brazilian’s absence could have a significant effect as the Gunners look to end their 20-year wait for a league title.
“Man City’s squad is still better than everyone else’s. They won’t win the treble again, but they will win the Premier League. I was close to picking Arsenal to win the title because no team has ever won it four years in a row, but they are without Gabriel Jesus at the start of the season, and I think that is just going to kill them,” Richards told BBC.
