“He’s Incredible” – Winks Praises Chelsea’s Potential New Manager

Chelsea is reportedly close to appointing Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca as their new manager. The Blues have approached Leicester for permission to speak with the Italian coach.

This move follows the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, announced by Chelsea on Tuesday evening after just one season with the club. Since then, the club has been actively seeking a replacement, and it looks like Maresca, a former assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, is the leading candidate.

Maresca, 44, led Leicester to the Championship title and secured promotion back to the Premier League last season. However, moving to manage a top-flight team like Chelsea is a significant step and poses a considerable risk.

Despite the challenges, current Leicester star Harry Winks has offered Chelsea fans a reason for optimism. In March, Winks, who has previously played under renowned managers such as Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino, praised Maresca, calling him “incredible” and the best manager he has worked with. Winks expressed confidence that Maresca has the potential to reach the top in football management.
