Goodbyes in January? 5 Chelsea players up for sale
Chelsea are planning to trim their squad under manager Enzo Maresca and will hope to part ways with five of their players in the January transfer window.
Maresca who been impressive at Stamford Bridge since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino prefers a smaller squad and has already made it known that some Chelsea players don’t fit in his style.
Chelsea will secure transfer or a loan for some of their players in January.
A report via to BBC Sport disclosed that defender Ben Chilwell, who the Blues remain keen to sell, having failed to do so in the summer transfer window, tops the list of players expected to leave in January.
Carney Chukwuemeka is another player on the list and the Blues are reportedly holding out for £40m to sell him.
Another midfielder who made the list is Cesare Casadei, who has been linked to Feyenoord and Monza.
There are speculations that the Blues will only allow Casadei leave on loan.
Harvey Vale who has six months left on his contract could leave Chelsea in January.
Alex Matos, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Huddersfield, is also not in Maresca’s plans and could leave in January.
