Former Chelsea star believes Pochettino needs more time

Former Chelsea star Mikel Obi has shared his take on the Blues performance under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues have continued to battle poor performance this season under the former Tottenham manager.

They drop to the 12th spot on the league table after their recent defeat to Everton.

Despite this, Mikel believes the Argentine manager needs more time to build his squad.

Mikel said on Obi One podcast: “Listen I am still a backer of the man but I will say that it is time to start taking responsibilities. We are talking about the building process and we have to give the players time, we have to give Mauricio time.

“I understand all that. I have been one of the biggest backers of Mauricio and what he is trying to do. But it is about time we start winning. We start turning his idea into winning. We have to start winning games and competing but right now we are not doing that.”

Chelsea will hope to return to winning ways on Saturday when they play against Sheffield United.
