Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf has sent a message to the club’s target Nico Williams against joining the Blues.

Williams has attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe, including Chelsea, Barcelona and Arsenal over his impressive performance for the Spanish national team at Euro 2024 in Germany.

The 21-year-old, was also one of the standout performers in La Liga last season, scoring five goals and creating 11 assists for Atletico Bilbao.

Chelsea are said to be interested in a move for the winger, who has a release clause of £46.5 million.

A Spanish outlet Sport had suggested that the Blues had made an approach for Williams through an intermediary.

While speaking via BoyleSports, Leboeuf stressed that while Williams would make a fantastic signing for Chelsea, the Blues are not playing in the Champions League.

He said that Williams has been too impressive for Bilbao to move to Stamford Bridge. He stated that if he was the winger, he would never go to Chelsea.

Leboeuf added that several top clubs want Williams and it would be odd for him to move to a club that are not in the elite European tournament.
