Former Chelsea and now Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has expressed surprise over rumours linking him with moves away from the Gunners this summer.

The Italian midfielder in a statement has now confirmed his decision to remain at the Emirates this summer, amid the reports linking him with a return to the Italian Serie A.

Jorghinho is rumoured to be on the search for a new club amid Declan Rice’s possible transfer to Arsenal this summer transfer window.

This is coming less than six months after Jorginho joined the Gunners from Chelsea.

The Italian midfielder stressed that he has no plans to depart as he is looking forward to his first full season at Arsenal, where he hopes to challenge for top honours again.

Jorghino in a statement via Evening Standard said: “To be honest, I was surprised but really happy by how welcome I was [and] how (Arsenal) treated me when I came in.

“I’m very happy to stay at Arsenal, to be honest. Those rumours—I’m not sure who was behind them, to be honest.”
