A latest report has revealed former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole will join Frank Lampard’s coaching crew at Stamford Bridge.

This was made public by transfer expert, David Ornstein, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday night.

According to Ornstein, the former Blues defender will join Lampard at the West London club as an assistant coach.

It is no longer news that Lampard is set to return to Stamford Bridge as the Blues interim head manager for the rest of the reason after they reached an agreement with him following Graham Potter’s sack last Sunday.

“Chelsea have reached agreement in principle to install Frank Lampard as interim head coach until end of the season,” Ornstein tweeted.

“44yo #CFC legend to be joined by assistants Ashley Cole, Joe Edwards, Chris Jones. Process for permanent appointment continues.”

Lampard is expected to take charge during the Blues’ next game this weekend after they were held to a 0-0 draw against Liverpool on Wednesday.
