Chelsea manager Graham Potter has reacted to their latest defeat to Newcastle United in the premier league.

Potter linked their 1-0 defeat to the Magpies as a result of fatigue and busy schedules.

The Blues to a high-flying Newcastle United on Saturday their third defeat in a row in the EPL as they had earlier lost Brighton and Arsenal in past matches.

Newcastle United won all three points thanks to a goal from Joe Willock in the second half.

The Magpies are now seated in the third position in the Premier League table.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are eighth in the table heading into the World Cup break. They are now eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.

“It’s not nice to not get results,” Potter said at the post-match press conference.

“We’ve had a lot of games, a few injuries to key players, destabilised us, today again you see they’re missing. Just had a period that’s been incredibly challenging.

“I think we had too many unforced errors to maintain any real good quality and pressure

“I have to defend the players in terms of fatigue.”
