Chelsea hosted Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge as the game ended in a defeat for the Blues.

Following the outcome of the match, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has given reasons for his side defeat to the Gunners.

Arsenal had the early lead in the first half, after Eddie Nketiah pounced on Andreas Christensen’s defensive error to score the first goal.

Chelsea striker Timo Werner would go on to score an equaliser for the Blues making the scoreline 1-1.

Emile Smith Rowe scored a second goal for the Gunners, but Cesar Azpilicueta tapped in to make it 2-2.

However, the second half saw Nketiah and Bukayo Saka score two goals as Mikel Arteta’s led Arsenal won all three points at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel was asked about the result after the game and what was responsible for the defeat.

He replied: “The amount of mistakes in consecutive games at home, it’s impossible at this level.

“It’s a very, very difficult pitch here. It’s not to our favour. The ball bounces awkwardly.”
