Chelsea’s youngster, Carney Chukwuemeka in a recent statement has opened up on what manager, Graham Potter told him before his introduction during the Blues’ 3-0 win against Wolves on Saturday.

Chukwuemeka made his debut for Chelsea in the Premier League win over Wolves and revealed that Potter told him to express himself and play the game with smiles.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder had moved to Stamford Bridge from Aston Villa over the summer for £20m

Until this weekend, Chukwuemeka has featured on Chelsea’s bench this season but had not made an appearance.

“Before coming on he [Potter] told me to express myself, to play how I have been in training and to play with a smile on myself. I think I did that so it was good,” he told reporters.

Chukwuemeka was one of the recent signings to arrive at Stamford Bridge over the summer, when Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly spent over £250m on new players.
