EPL transfer: Arsenal to sign this former Chelsea player

The January transfer window is on, and we are bound to see football clubs making moves for new players during this period.

The latest reports revealed that Arsenal wants to sign former Chelsea’s youth player Tariq Lamptey.

Lamptey currently plays for Brighton but is available at the right price, according to expert journalist Duncan Castles.

The right-back moved to Brighton for £3m from Chelsea in 2019 and has gained attention from top clubs in the Premier League over his impressive performance.

He has remained one of the best full-backs after he was sidelined for almost nine months to a hamstring injury.

The reports revealed that the Gunners had wanted to sign Lamptey while he was at Stamford Bridge, but it didn’t work out then but they have kept an eye on the defender ever since.

“What you have here is Arsenal, who had an interest in Lamptey when he burst onto the scene before that difficult injury that you referred to,” said Castles as quoted by Metro.

“They are looking again to sign him and exploring the parameters of the deal. I think Lamptey is an exceptionally attacking full-back…”
