Chelsea returned to action in the English Premier League on Sunday when they hosted Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues managed to win all three points against the visitors’ thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz.

This will make it Havertz’s fourth goal for the Blues in his last three matches.

The goal against Newcastle came in at the 89th minute as the Magpies put up a tough resistance against the Blues.

Havertz, however, found a way after he controlled an excellent pass from Jorginho before finding the back of the net.

Former football star Michael Owen also reacted to Havertz’s performance and the yellow card that was handed to him.

Owen stressed that the yellow card was carried, and the Magpies should have been handed a penalty against Chelsea

“My take on Chelsea v Newcastle talking points; Yellow card was correct for Havertz. Should have been a pen for Newcastle. Sensational finish, pure class,” Owen wrote on Twitter.

Chelsea remain seated at the third spot on the EPL table and will now return to action in the UCL this week.
