Defender rates Man Utd chances of winning the UCL title

Manchester United defender, Raphael Varane in a recent statement has said that the Red Devils have the chance of winning the UEFA Champions League this season.

Varane, however, opined that the Red Devils will have to be efficient in front of goal to lift the title.

Man United started their Champions League Group A with a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in September.

They will hope to bounce back on Tuesday evening when they host Galatasaray at Old Trafford.

In a pre-match press conference, Varane expressed confidence that the Red Devils have a squad that is capable of winning the competition.

“I think that competition is about details, you have to be efficient to win that competition, ”Varane said.

“I think what we can improve is to be more efficient in front of goal.

“We have a very low number of occasions where we concede goals, we have to create a lot to score, so that is the reality of the top level, you have to be efficient to win big trophies.

“I think we have the quality in the squad to win the competition, but we have to improve and tomorrow [against Galatasaray] is a great opportunity to get the first points in the competition, to move forward and improve.”

When asked if he believes Man United are capable of winning the Champions League, Varane added: “Yes, I think so. The quality is in the squad, as I said, this competition is difficult, you have to take care of every detail.”
