De Bruyne names Man Utd star best midfielder

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne may have stunned many football lovers after he named Manchester United midfielder and captain Bruno Fernandes as the best in the Premier League.

While speaking to Sky Sports, De Bruyne who is considered by many as the best playmaker, ranked Fernandes ahead of James Maddison of Tottenham Hotspur and Martin Odegaard of Arsenal.

When asked about his decision, the Belgian said: “I think he is a creative machine.”

Although De Bruyne created 98 chances in the league last season, Fernandes, by comparison, clocked in at 119.

Despite this, De Bruyne finished the season with 16 assists while Fernandes achieved only half of that total.

Meanwhile, Man Utd continue to struggle this season and could be in for more challenges as the season progresses.

There have also been calls for the captain band to be taken away from Fernandes, who replaced Harry Maguire as the club’s skipper.
