Dani Olmo has addressed the recent extension of his release clause at RB Leipzig amid transfer links to Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

The 26-year-old midfielder is currently with the Spanish national team, preparing for the Euro 2024 final against England at Berlin’s OlympiaStadion.

Olmo is the tournament’s joint-top scorer, with three goals, sharing the spotlight with players like Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala.

Spain has been dominant throughout the tournament, and they enter Sunday’s final as the favorites. Once the final concludes, players will shift their focus back to their club commitments.

Since joining RB Leipzig in 2020, Olmo has netted 29 goals in 148 appearances for the Bundesliga club. With three years remaining on his contract, Leipzig is under no immediate pressure to sell him. However, a £55 million release clause in his contract could facilitate a move.

The release clause, initially set to expire the day after the Euro 2024 final, has been extended by a week due to Spain’s progress to the final. This extension allows clubs additional time to consider activating the clause.

Olmo’s performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, including United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

Olmo, who began his career at Barcelona before moving to Dinamo Zagreb at 16, commented on the situation, seemingly inviting offers from interested clubs.

“If clubs want me, they know what they can do. There’s time until July 20 for the release clause; otherwise, later it’d be tough negotiations! I’m under contract at Leipzig and I want to win titles,” Olmo said.

With this extension, clubs have a brief window to secure Olmo’s services without entering into protracted negotiations. His impressive form for both club and country suggests he could be a valuable addition to any top European side.
