Conte on standby as players turn against Ole
The recent reports have revealed that some players have turned against Man Utd coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
According to an ESPN report, it disclosed that there had been some changes in the Red Devils dressing room at Old Trafford even before they were defeated in a 5-0 scoreline by Liverpool last weekend.
The report claimed that the club’s hierarchy are also aware of the situation in the dressing room. As such former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has been placed on standby and could return to management at Old Trafford.
Recall that Solskjaer took over at Man Utd as an interim coach following the sack of Jose Mourinho’s sack in December 2018.
Since the takeover, Solskjear has not lifted a single trophy with the Red Devils, making the rest of the club lose interest in his style of management.
However, the recent defeat to Liverpool was the one that put Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford on shaking grounds.
Other weakness in the Norwegian’s style has also been pointed out, and they include the inability to solve the team’s defensive problems, alleged favouritism of under-performing players and his reluctance to give the likes of Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek and Nemanja Matic playing chances.
Then Is the issue of lack of understanding between Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood, all of these has been left unsolved by Solskjaer.
At this point, the Red Devils need an experienced coach like Conte to manage the club.
