Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has nothing but praises for Arsenal’s new signings following his side’s defeat to the Gunners in the Community Shield over the weekend.

De Bruyne in a post-match statement singled out Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber for their impressive form after the Wembley game.

Recall that the Gunners manager, Mikel Arteta, started his three new players against Man City but they needed penalties to beat the EPL Champions.

The game which ended in a 1-1 after over 100 minutes was decided via spot kicks as De Bruyne and Rodri missed for City before Fabio Vieira secured the win for the Gunners.

After the game, De Bruyne spoke about Arsenal’s new additions.

“I think they are good players,” De Bruyne admitted when discussing Rice, Havertz and Timber’s influence.

“They look at what they need and they have bought them.

“I think they started all three, so that means they are big signings for them. Everybody is looking at their own team and every team has so much money, so everybody is always spending in this league and we know that. It gets tougher every year. One way or another, we try to maintain where we are.”
