England’s legend, Paul Gascoigne has shared his take on Chelsea star Cole Palmer’s performance.

Gascoigne applauded Palmer, stressing that he did not realize how good the youngster was.

Recall that the 22-year-old England international exited Premier League champions Manchester City for Chelsea in a deal worth an initial £40 million in the summer of 2023.

Palmer has since become Chelsea’s best player signed under their new owner Todd Boehly.

Last season, the Blues forward scored 22 goals and created 11 assists in 33 Premier League games for Chelsea.

This season the England international has already scored six goals and created five assists in seven league matches.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United star, Paul Gascoigne while speaking on Football365, acknowledged his lack of appreciation for Palmer.

“I didn’t realize how good he was! It’s only the last couple of games I’ve watched him on Match of the Day, he’s been unbelievable,” Gascoigne said.

The former England star said Palmer is hungry, recalling how he scored four goals for Chelsea against Brighton.

“Palmer wants to do well and he’s with a good team, he’s sharp,” Gascoigne added.

Meanwhile, Palmer is expected to return to action this weekend when the Blues make a trip to Anfield to play Liverpool.
