Chelsea’s transfer plans remain on track despite Mauricio Pochettino’s departure as head coach on Tuesday. The club is poised to complete their first summer signing with the deal for Estevao Willian progressing smoothly.

Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over Chelsea in May 2022, the club has spent over £1 billion on more than 30 new players. Many of these signings, including Andrey Santos, Kendry Paez, and Deivid Washington, are aimed at future success.

While Mauricio Pochettino had a positive impact on the squad, it’s evident he had limited influence on transfers. His comments about Conor Gallagher’s future highlighted this, as he stated, “I am not involved. I do not know nothing.” He emphasized Gallagher’s consistent presence in his starting XI but acknowledged that decisions about the player’s future were out of his hands.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently provided an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian. Romano stated that Chelsea is finalizing the contract details and aims to sign the deal by the end of the week.

The club has a delegation in Brazil working to secure the €65 million (£55.3 million) package deal with Palmeiras. This verbal agreement has been in place since last week.

The 17-year-old, nicknamed ‘Messinho,’ is expected to join Chelsea’s first team next season under the new head coach. The club remains focused on this transfer despite the managerial change, showcasing their commitment to strengthening the squad for the future.
