Chelsea manager, Thomas in a recent statement has revealed that no decision has been made on the future of Olivier Giroud at Stamford Bridge.

Recall that Tuchel took over from Lampard a few weeks ago after the latter was sacked over the poor performance in the Blues squad which saw them drop out of the top four to the ninth spot on the log table.

Since Lampard’s departure, Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham have been jostling for game time under the new manager.

However, with Giroud now having a few months to go in his contract at Chelsea, Tuchel has revealed that no decision has been made on the France international’s future.

Tuchel made this known ahead of the Blues game vs. Southampton this weekend.

Speaking about the 34-year-old, Tuchel said: “No decisions made, because it’s too soon to make these decisions, too soon in the season, and I don’t have enough time to make these decisions because I just started three weeks ago.

The Blues coach also went on to hail Giroud for his top form in the Premier League.

Considering Giroud’s age, it is unlike the Blues to extend his contract beyond this season as they would likely sign a replacement for him in the summer.
