Chelsea working a swap deal with Juventus
Bare a few weeks to the end of the summer transfer window and the Blues are still working on signing new players.
The West London side are said to be determined to add some experienced players to Enzo Maresca’s squad as the new season begins.
Chelsea have identified Juventus’ Federico Chiesa as one of such players they can sign and they considering a swap deal involving Chiesa and Raheem Sterling on or before the transfer deadline day.
A report via Calciomercato.com disclosed that Sterling has failed to live up to expectations since joining the Blues from Manchester City two summers ago.
The England star managed to scored just 10 goals and created eight assists in 43 games across competitions for the Blues last season.
However, Juventus on the other hand are pleased with his efforts and would want the former Liverpool and Manchester City star at Turin.
Juventus are ready to let Chiesa leave this summer and want the Englishman as his replacement.
Like Sterling, Chiesa has not been at his best recent times, but his stock remains high, with Chelsea also among his suitors as they are now proposing a swap deal involving the 26-year-old and Sterling.
The only stumbling block in Sterling’s transfer to Italy is high wage which Juventus can’t afford.
