Chelsea target Lyon star compared to Zidane

Chelsea are said to be considering making a move for Lyon midfielder, Rayan Cherki.

Cherki, who has been compared to France football star, Zinedine Zidane for his attacking nature and goal-scoring ability in the French Ligue 1 could soon find his way to Stamford Bridge.

A report via Football London revealed that Chelsea are ready to replace Mason Mount, who is close to sealing a move to Manchester United.

The Blues believe Cherki is a perfect candidate to replace Mount in their midfield.

Cherki at 19 is already a senior player at Lyon, and a move to Chelsea could be a reasonable one by Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly.

The France Under-21s international is multi-talented as he can also play out wide.

Cherki would provide the versatility and quality to improve Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s squad next season.

We will have to wait to see the Blues get the transfer done once Mount departs for Old Trafford.
