The Blues will return to action this weekend when they come face to face with Newcastle United in the Premier League.

This comes after their recent win against Barnsley in the FA Cup.

The Blues won the match with 1 goal to nothing and have now moved to the next stage in the FA Cup.

However, ahead of their faceoff vs. Newcastle United, the Blues coach, Thomas Tuchel has given an update on how ready the team are for the game.

Tuchel in his pre-match statement revealed Chelsea will be without their star and experienced defender, Thiago Silva.

The Blues coach disclosed that Silva will miss the match but should be available when they face Southampton.

On the other hand, Timo Werner is expected to return to action this weekend while the coach revealed that there is a chance Kai Havertz could feature at Stamford Bridge.

Recall that the trio were missing in action as the Blues defeated Barnsley 1-0 to qualify for the FA Cup quarter-final on Thursday night.

“It’s Friday and we still have three training sessions. It should be okay for Timo Werner to come back,” Tuchel said in a statement.

He added that it may be too close for Kai still and Thiago.
