Chelsea star singled out after 1-1 draw vs Man City
Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has picked Axel Disasi as the ‘best player’ during Chelsea’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday night.
Caragher compared Disasi to Chelsea legend John Terry over his performance against Man City.
The Blues and Man City shared the points thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Rodri at the Etihad.
Disasi, meanwhile, started for the Blues against Pep Guardiola’s side at the heart of their defence alongside Levi Colwill.
He made a whopping 16 clearances and three blocks and won all four of his aerial duels.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said about Disasi: “That was a John Terry performance and I can’t give any higher praise than that.
“I can’t remember a better defensive performance this season, certainly from a central defender.
“You are coming away to Manchester City, playing against the best striker in the world, he was brilliant. He was Man of the Match, definitely the best player on the pitch.
“He was just throwing himself in front of everything.”
