Chelsea star on Liverpool’s radar again
Liverpool are said to be considering whether to make a move for Chelsea star Levi Colwill in the coming summer transfer window.
Wth the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp set to leave at the end of season, they are looking to improving their defence when the new coach to replace their German boss is yet to be signed.
Joe Matip’s impending departure at the end of his contract this summer, and Virgil van Dijk, who is 32 already, seems to be the factor behind Liverpool’s decision to sign a new defender.
It is believed that the Reds are focused on signing a left-sided centre-half, preferably someone who is left-footed as well, which would create a better balance to their side.
This is why Chelsea defender Colwill is back on Liverpool’s radar.
A report via GiveMeSport claimed that the Reds are privately ‘mulling over whether to attempt’ to sign him this summer.
Recall that Liverpool have been monitoring Colwill for a while now as they were interested in signing him last year after his successful loan spell at Brighton.
However, Chelsea refused to let him leave then by handing him a new contract.
