Chelsea reach agreement with Rennes midfielder

Chelsea are keen on adding a new player to their midfield before the close of this summer transfer window.

With their chances of signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton getting slimmer, the Blues seem to turn their focus on another midfielder.

The recent report revealed the West London club have reached a £23.5 million deal to sign midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes.

Further reports revealed the 19-year-old midfielder will undergo a medical in the next 24 hours.

Ugochukwu has also reached personal terms with the Blues and is keen on moving to Chelsea.

However, another report via The Athletic revealed that there are chances that the Blues will loan out Ugochukwu to Strasbourg for the 2023/24 season.

The midfielder made 47 appearances for Rennes in Ligue 1 after breaking into the side in 2021.

We may have to wait till when a deal is finally announced for the midfielder to know what Chelsea have in plan for him.
