With Chelsea star Ben Chilwell, who returned from a cruciate injury last season now on injury again, manager Graham Potter in his press conference was asked about the players’ mental state.

While Potter said Chilwell feels okay, he, however, stressed that the club are working to know the nature of his injury, which he sustained during the UCL clash vs Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.

‘He’s okay but until you get the diagnosis, we’re just hopeful and fingers crossed. Then from there we’ll see how to get him back fit and strong. It’s disappointing, of course,’ the manager said.

However, Potter does not believe seeing the problems the likes of Chilwell and Reece James have had in the weeks leading up to the World Cup will have an impact on how his players approach club games.

‘I don’t think there’s fear,’ he said.

‘I think it’s part of the challenge. It is very difficult to play in Premier League football or Champions League football and go at it half-hearted. That’s pretty much impossible and then at the same time, you know there’s a World Cup a couple of weeks away, so it’s a tricky position for everybody.’
