Chelsea plans to keep key defender amid interest from Saudi Pro League

Chelsea are not ready to let another of their player in person of Marc Cucurella move to the Saudi Pro League.
This comes as Al Nassr completed a permanent signing of Joao Felix from Chelsea this summer transfer window.
The report claimed that the Saudi club want to bring Cucurella to their side, a move Chelsea are against.
To stop this from happening, football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, disclosed that Chelsea will attempt to ward off any transfer interest by offering the Spaniard a new contract.
The 27-year-old defender still has three years left on his current contract with the Blues, but he now looks to forward to an extension as he remains a part of Chelsea long-term plans.
According to the reports, the Blues ‘plan to offer’ Cucurella a new contract to recognise his status as a ‘key part’ of Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also close to signing a new deal with Ajax defender Joel Hato.
But Hato is not considered a replacement for Cucurella as he is tipped to serve as back up for the Spaniard and will also compete for one of the two centre-back spots in manager Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup.
