Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has revealed his plans of retaining his best form under Thomas Tuchel after he put up an impressive performance against Burnley.

Playing his first game since September, Marcos Alonso who was on the pitch from start to finish scored a wonderful volley to secure Chelsea emphatic victory over Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard had a season to forget under Frank Lampard but the arrival of Thomas Tuchel has brought a new hope that the former Bolton Wanderers player is not ready to take for granted.

Marcos Alonso after the game spoke out about the game and the future as he noted the main reason why Chelsea have to get back to the top.

The Spaniard stated that it was good to help the team with a goal but he’s just delighted for the three points and very happy for the team.

He noted that the team need to get back to the top, or as close to the top as soon as possible, and today was a good start.

Sharing his thoughts on the game, Alonso pinpointed that the team knew it would be dangerous against Burnley with the long balls and set-pieces so he was there to help.

Though he agreed that it’s been a while since he played, Alonso noted that he has been working hard and he’s just happy that he was ready for the match.

Alonso added that a lot of things has been said out there but he likes to work, be quiet and talk on the pitch.

He will be hoping to sustain his place in the starting lineup when Chelsea play their next match against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
