A report has claimed that Chelsea offered two of their players in an exchange deal to sign AC Milan forward, Rafael Leao, last summer.

The report via The Athletic claimed the Blues made moves to lure Leao away from AC Milan with an ambitious proposition by offering Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech.

This happened when Chelsea had their first transfer window under the Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali-led ownership, with the group subsequently spending more than £600 million on new players across the summer and winter windows.

Chelsea provided several options to try and force through a move for Leao, but a deal did not materialize.

It is yet to be known if they will attempt to make another move this summer.

Leao has been impressive for AC Milan since joining them in 2019, scoring 40 goals and creating 34 assists in 159 games for the Serie giants.

Leao’s contract with the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2024.
