Chelsea now considering this Monaco defender after Fofana’s injury
Chelsea will have to make a new signing to bolster their defence ahead of next season and recent reports revealed they are now considering Monaco’s Axel Disasi as a potential transfer target.
This was made public by journalist Simon Phillips who revealed the Blues ‘really like’ Disasi after scouting him.
The report linking Disasi to Chelsea emerged the same day the Blues centre-half Wesley Fofana was mentioned in a sad injury news.
Chelsea on Tuesday confirmed that the Blues defender Fofana underwent surgery after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
This prevented him from joining the rest of Chelsea’s squad on their current pre-season tour in the US.
With the look of things, Fofana may not be available to Chelsea at the beginning of next season, which means the Blues will have to find a replacement.
Disasi could be the worthy replacement for Chelsea, however, a report via L’Equipe revealed that Monaco could demand £44million to sell the defender, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United.
