Chelsea have made a break through in their bid to sign Jorell Hato from Dutch club this summer transfer window.

The Blues have been busy this window with moves for key player to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

One of the areas they are looking to improve is their defensive options with the addition of Ajax’s Hato.

Recent report via Sky Sports News disclosed that the deal for Hato could soon be completed.

This comes as Chelsea are getting ever closer to unveiling the 19-year-old as the newest member of Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Sky Sports reported that the Blues ‘made a breakthrough’ in negotiations after holding positive discussions with Ajax on Tuesday.

The two side will return to the table on Wednesday, as they look to reach a final agreement on Hato’s transfer.

Recall that previous report claimed that Chelsea will have to pay over £35m to sign Hato who is under contract at Ajax until the summer of 2028.

Hato also handed the Blues transfer boost after he asked not to be included in Ajax’s squads for the two Como Cup matches, despite travelling to Italy with his teammates.

We will have to wait to see if the talks will finally yield positive results for the Blues.
