Chelsea could soon reunite with one of their former players as they continue in their frantic search for a new striker.

It is no longer news that Chelsea are keen on signing a striker that can create competition for Nicolas Jackson who struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge last season.

Ahead of the arrival of their new manager Enzo Maresca in July, the Blues are working hard on signing a new striker.

A recent report via HITC disclosed that the Blues have enquired about Dominic Solanke‘s situation at Bournemouth.

The England international was productive last season, scoring 19 goals in 38 appearances.

With 77 goals and 31 assists from 216 appearances to his name, Solanke has established himself a top player in Bournemouth’s history.

His impressive form has attracted interest this summer which means the Cherries may find it hard to keep him.

There are claims that Chelsea could activate a release clause in Solanke’s contract, handing them a boost, but his deal still stands at £65m and can also be used by other “top six” clubs, including Arsenal.

It is, however, unlikely that Chelsea will be willing to pay £65m to sign Solanke this summer.
