Chelsea left-back named best in the Premier League

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has been named the best in the English Premier League by former Liverpool right-back, Glen Johnson.
Johnson made this known while warning Liverpool against making signing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
He instead advised the Reds to pursue a deal for Cucurella as Liverpool eye moves for a new left-back to replace Andy Robertson.
Recall that Metro had previously reported that Kerkez was Liverpool’s main target after he enjoyed an impressive season for Bournemouth.
However, Johnson opined that it would be a bad move, advising Liverpool to go for Cucurella, who also had a superb season.
Cucurella, moved to Stamford Bridge from Brighton in the summer of 2022, making 45 appearances across competitions for the Blues this season, scoring six and assisting four goals.
Johnson told WDW Bingo that if he was Liverpool, he would do everything he could to sign Cucurella.
“’m not sure if he is available, but he is by far the best left-back in the Premier League, and everyone is available for the right price. He is a livewire,” he added.
Meanwhile, Cucurella’s contract with Chelsea doesn’t expire till 2028.
Liverpool, who won the Premier League title this season are expected to be busy come summer transfer market as they Arne Slot would want to improve his squad for the coming season.
