Chelsea join Real Madrid in race of Bayer Munich’s left back

Chelsea have reportedly joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in the race for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies.

According to a report via Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea are weighing up a bold move to lure Bayern Munich’s  Davies, with growing speculation over his future in the German Bundesliga.

The Blues have endured an underwhelming first half of the season which has placed them at the ninth spot on the Premier League table.

Their manager Mauricio Pochettino is determined to sign reinforcements this month, but the Blues’ budget will hinge on whether they can offload the players.

The left-back has proven to be a problem area for Pochettino this season.

While Ben Chilwell is their undisputed first-choice, the England international has endured consistent injury problems.

Chelsea will hope to bring a top player like Davies to bolster that area.

However, they will face competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Man City who are also monitoring the left back.
