Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard in his first press conference spoke on his return to the club

Lampard, who made 648 appearances as a midfielder for the Blues, scored 211 goals making him their top scorer.

The 45-year-old first arrived to manage the Blues for 18 months before he was fired in January 2021 by the club’s former owner and Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

However, following Graham Potter’s recent sack, the club’s new co-owner, Todd Boehly has again brought back the former midfielder.

“I didn’t think I’d ever be in this seat. I’m a confident person, I work hard and understand the game. It wasn’t my thought I’d one day be back as Chelsea manager.

“In terms of unfinished business, I don’t see it like that. I look back on it with really good feelings.

“I’m here in a different era and want to do as well as I can,” Lampard told the media on Thursday.
