Chelsea have completed moves for their first major signing for their new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

While the West London side welcomed Christopher Nkunku to Stamford Bridge this summer from RB Leipzig, they had, however, reached an agreement for his transfer during the January transfer window.

Jackson on the other hand, is the Blues’ first signing for Pochettino as he arrives in the EPL from Villarreal.

Like most of the other players signed by Chelsea since Todd Boehly’s takeover, Jackson was handed an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

In a statement via the club’s official website, the Blues’ co-sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, said: “We are excited to welcome Nicolas to Chelsea.

“He is a young player with big potential, as he showcased for Villarreal last season.

“We believe he is ready for this next step in his career and look forward to him working with our new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and his Chelsea teammates.”
