Chelsea eying £10 million Ligue 1 player
Peterborough United’s 20-year-old defender Ronnie Edwards has been linked with a number of clubs including Chelsea this transfer window.
This is owing to Edwards’s standout performance in Peterborough’s defence, which made him become a target for bigger clubs.
So far, Edwards, an England Under-20 international, has amassed an impressive 116 first-team appearances in his young career at Peterborough, which is an impressive achievement for a player of his age.
His experience in the first-team squad reflects his talent, maturity and the trust placed in him by the club.
A report via The Athletic claimed that Chelsea have maintained a long-standing interest in Ronnie Edwards.
Another report via TalkSPORT reported that Peterborough United are willing to sell Ronnie Edwards in the January transfer window, but interested clubs would have to pay £10 million to secure his services.
The 20-year-old is considered one of the most promising young defenders in the country.
Aside from Chelsea, Edwards has garnered interest from four Premier League clubs.
Clubs from Belgium and Germany are also said to be showing interest in securing his services.
